This role combines soft skills with technical know-how. You should communicate clearly and thoughtfully, with cultural sensitivity and empathy. Solid digital skills are essential: familiarity with major social media platforms and basic tools (like moderation dashboards, spreadsheets or ticketing systems) will help you work efficiently. Adaptability and organisation are crucial for juggling
Social media moderation often operates around the clock, so shift work (including evenings and weekends) is common; many roles allow remote or hybrid working. Moderators usually collaborate via online platforms, with regular check-ins and a supportive team environment. We prioritise wellbeing: you will take regular breaks and have access to mental health resources or employee assistance programmes. This supportive approach helps you manage stress and stay emotionally resilient while doing important, meaningful work.
Entry-level moderators can progress to senior positions, leading teams or shaping content policies. With experience, you might become a Trust & Safety specialist, Community Manager, or Policy Analyst, applying your insights to broader challenges. The skills you develop—such as critical thinking, communication, and cross-cultural understanding—open doors to diverse roles in tech and media.

Preferred Education and Experience:
Work environment – When in the main office, expect a comfortable, air-conditioned work environment. Team members are issued their own desks, but the office is an open, shared space and can be fast-paced and occasionally noisy.
Physical demands – Must be able to either stand or sit at a desk for long periods of time.
Position type and expected hours of work – Regular full-time, 40 hours per week.
Travel required – Significant out-of-state travel not anticipated.
