Under general direction, performs advanced professional work in the preparation and analysis of the City’s operating and capital improvement budget, and performs other related duties as assigned.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Which are not in any hierarchical order)
1. Assists in developing forms and materials for use in the annual financial cycle budget preparation, in conducting workshops relating to the financial processes and in reviewing departmental submissions.
2. Reviews and analyzes department budget submissions for accuracy and compliance with budgetary accounting principles and procedures; makes recommendations for revisions and changes accordingly.
3. Assists in the development of revenue/expense budgets and budget books for formal presentation to City Administration, City officials, and the general public.
4. Researches and analyzes special projects for Chief Financial Officer and Budget Manager.
5. Prepares budget amendments for department and agenda packages.
6. Performs financial and technical analyses and prepares reports, presentations, charts, graphs and statistics for budget tracking, revenue projections, performance measurements, regulatory and audit compliance, and response to City Officials, senior management, and citizens requests.
7. Confers with department directors and/or division managers to obtain additional information.
8. Communicates with departments, administration and commission as directed.
9. Prepares budget documents including Budget in Brief and Annual Budget Book.
10. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Salary
Depending on qualifications the starting salary for this position will be in the range of (Pay Grade 66):
$73,345 – $91,689 Annually

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree with a major in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field (education will be verified using the “Education Requirements” listed below), and three (3) years of progressively responsible government budgeting, billing, collection, or revenue generation experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
A current and valid Florida driver’s license is required. For application purposes, a valid driver’s license from any state (equivalent to a State of Florida Class E) may be utilized; with the ability to obtain the State of Florida driver’s license within thirty (30) days from date of employment.
