We are looking for a hands-on, customer-focused Medical Bed Service Technician to join our team in the Netherlands. This role is dedicated exclusively to the delivery, installation, maintenance, and support of medical beds in healthcare environments. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of hygiene, safety, and performance.
A Medical Bed Service Technician plays a quiet but essential role in healthcare—one that often goes unnoticed but directly impacts patient safety, comfort, and recovery. Behind every smooth hospital stay is a team ensuring that medical equipment works perfectly, and hospital beds are at the heart of that experience. This role combines technical skill with a strong sense of responsibility, making it both meaningful and rewarding.
At its core, a Medical Bed Service Technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and sometimes installing hospital beds and related equipment. These are not ordinary beds—they are advanced medical devices designed with features like adjustable height, electronic controls, side rails, and pressure-relief systems to prevent bedsores. Because patients rely on these beds during critical moments, even a small fault can lead to discomfort or serious risk. That’s why technicians must ensure everything functions smoothly at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Qualifications & Skills
Vehicle Policy A company van/car is provided for work-related travel from home to office or client sites.

Technicians regularly check hospital beds to ensure everything is functioning properly. This includes:
Testing electronic controls and motors
Checking brakes and wheels
Inspecting side rails and locking systems
Ensuring smooth movement and adjustments
Preventive maintenance helps avoid sudden breakdowns and ensures patient safety.
When a bed malfunctions, technicians must quickly identify and fix the issue. This may involve:
Replacing faulty motors or wiring
Fixing control panels
Adjusting mechanical parts
Diagnosing electrical faults
Quick repairs are essential, especially in critical care situations.
Although cleaning staff handle sanitation, technicians often assist by ensuring beds are properly prepared for cleaning and safe for reuse. Hygiene plays a major role in preventing infections in hospitals.
Technicians may install new hospital beds or relocate existing ones. This includes:
Assembling parts
Testing functionality
Ensuring proper placement in patient rooms
Maintaining records is a crucial part of the job. Technicians document:
Maintenance schedules
Repair history
Equipment condition reports
This helps hospitals stay compliant with safety standards.
Technicians often guide nurses and hospital staff on how to properly use bed controls and features. This reduces misuse and extends equipment life.
To become a successful Medical Bed Service Technician, certain technical and personal skills are essential:
Basic knowledge of electronics and mechanical systems
Problem-solving ability
Attention to detail
Physical fitness (for lifting and moving equipment)
Good communication skills
Ability to work under pressure
Many technicians have backgrounds in technical training, biomedical equipment technology, or vocational education.
Healthcare is a growing industry, and equipment maintenance is always needed. This makes the job highly secure and reliable.
This role provides a strong sense of purpose. Even though technicians may not always interact directly with patients, their work improves patient comfort and safety.
With experience, technicians can move into:
Senior technician roles
Biomedical equipment specialist positions
Supervisory or management roles
Medical technology is always evolving. Technicians often receive training on new equipment, helping them grow their skills.
Most technicians work in hospitals, clinics, or healthcare facilities, offering a structured and respectful workplace.
