The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations is required The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
Hospital Assistant II professionals help patients with daily activities while ensuring dignity and comfort. Their duties include:
Assisting with bathing, dressing, and grooming
Helping patients move safely (bed to chair, walking support)
Supporting feeding when necessary
Monitoring patient comfort levels
They often handle patients who need extra attention, requiring patience and care.
With more experience, Hospital Assistant II staff take on a stronger support role:
Preparing patients for examinations or procedures
Assisting nurses with basic clinical tasks
Ensuring all necessary equipment is ready
Delivering medical supplies quickly when needed
Their efficiency directly supports better patient outcomes.
One of the key differences in this role is observation responsibility. They:
Monitor patient conditions closely
Report any changes to nurses or doctors
Keep track of basic health indicators (as directed)
